Instagram suggests sleeping in

Instagram today announced new notifications for teens that will encourage users to turn off their phone when they use it late at night.

According to Instagram:

"Sleep is important, especially for young people, so we’re launching new nighttime prompts that will appear when teens spend more than 10 minutes on Instagram in places like Reels or Direct Message late at night. They'll remind teens that it's late and prompt them to close the app."

Mobile addiction is real, and no matter how hard you try, at some point your child may "hang out" half the night on Instagram and sleep through school.

Notifications can be helpful, although I think most kids will just ignore it and keep scrolling through their instagram feed.

So this isn't a replacement for the old "I'll take your phone away from you if you keep sitting on it all night long", but it is another attempt by instagram to help teens fight it themselves) Or is it an appearance of rampant activity?
