Instagram is a significant part of our life. Here we communicate with family and friends, store photos, do business and think that it will always be this way. Imagine our surprise when one morning we do not find our profile on the social network. It simply does not exist.
Why Instagram blocks users, how to distinguish blocking from hacking, and how to restore your account - in our review.
There can be many reasons, because each case is individual. It all depends on a social network rule that a user violated.
But there is also something in common: if you have been blocked by Instagram, pay attention to the error window that appears upon login. There is an important button “Details”. When you click on it, a new window opens with a reason for a ban.
Does not the social network name the reason? So the time has not come yet. Instagram announces it only after 24 hours. So you have to wait. Yes, restoring a profile is not an easy and often time-consuming process.
There are many reasons for the ban. They all come from the User Agreement, which you confirmed as soon as you joined Instagram. But of course you haven't read it. There are detailed "User obligations", violating which you risk to lose your profile. Let's analyze each reason.
Complaints. There is not much that depends on you here. Instagram users are generous with complaints. It is difficult to guess what exactly they will not like. Hold grudges against you and throw complaints, you will be forced to restore your account after it is disabled.
Copyright. This type of blocking often affects Insta-shops of “fake” clothes. Before your account is banned for this reason, you will be notified that the trademark owner has filed a complaint. The letter will also contain all the conditions that must be met in order to avoid a complaint. Also, copyright blocking can be for the use of music, photos and videos rights to use which don’t belong to you.
Instagram can restrict certain actions for a specific period. The difference between such a ban and a disabled account is that your account will be available to you and other users. However, you will not be able to, for example, like or follow other profiles.
This type of blocking is used for minor violations. For example, if a user exceeds the limit on the number of likes. But in case of repeated such violations, the account can be blocked "for real".
Your actions can be limited for a few hours (3, 7 or 24) or for a few days (also 3, 7 or 21).
Losing access to your profile does not always mean that you were blocked. This can sometimes turn out to be a hack.
Most often, “hackers”, after they hijacked an account, immediately use it for their own purposes: they post fake information on your behalf, allegedly about the health problems with your relatives, with a request to send any amount of money.
However, it also happens otherwise: sometimes hackers hide the account and then it is not possible to find it through the search. The password does not match, and the user thinks that he was blocked.
It is easy to distinguish hacking from blocking - when you are banned, Instagram will notify you about it. But with a competent "hacking" - no.
First of all, you should check if you received any emails from Instagram. If there is a letter from security@mail.instagram.com in your email box, which says about rebinding a new unknown mail to your Instagram account, try to cancel this action.
You can also request an Instagram login link or security code through this email.
But hijackers know how to cover their tracks. So, if you still find such an email, consider yourself lucky - it's a rarity.
Then we turn to this form and follow the instructions.
1. Forget about cheating and mass following. And don't create suspiciously high activity. Agree, it looks strange if usually you receive 50 likes on a photo within a year, and a new photo suddenly collects 2000 hearts.
2. Try not to annoy other users. A lot of the same comments and constant marks of other people's accounts will unleash a wave of hatred and complaints on you. The same goes for direct message spam.
3. Instagram does not approve of the use of various automated services that request access to your profile. Usually these are sites for auto-posting, collecting statistics or checking followers/unfollowers. They use gray api that Instagram finds and blocks.
4. Be careful while traveling around the world. If you suddenly go to your profile and Instagram sees that your IP-address has changed from Russia to, for example, Brazil, Instagram will have many questions for you. So make sure that the mail and phone number associated with your account are in working order. In case you need to confirm that it is you who are logging into your account.
5. Carefully study the rules of Instagram and follow them. Forget about posting erotic content. And also do not promote anorexia, suicide, do not call for violence and do not try to sell drugs and weapons.
6. Create your own content. Other people's photos and videos will not bring you popularity. But they will bring a lot of troubles in the fight for account recovery.
7. The same applies to products of well-known brands. If you are planning to sell NIKE sneakers, be prepared for the fact that the company closely monitors the sale of replicas on Instagram and actively throws complaints about replica dealers.
These are just a few of the limitations. To fully protect yourself, we advise you to study the User Agreement and other documents on the Instagram Help Center website.
