Account Blocks for Impersonating Companies: A Trend for 2024
In the final months of 2024, one of the most common reasons for Instagram account blocks has been impersonating a company or, less frequently, another individual.
Why is this happening?
We have a theory that has a bit of a conspiracy angle. Social media plays a significant role in elections, and that's no secret. Given the profound influence it holds and the presence of "observers" at the highest levels, Instagram is known to tighten its control before elections, and the stakes are high, especially with the U.S. presidential election on the horizon.
But why has impersonating a company become the top reason for account blocks? We believe this is a measure to prevent situations where fake accounts express opinions on behalf of real influencers without any basis.
So, how can you protect yourself from this issue?
In practice, accounts whose names overlap with well-known brands are the most frequently blocked. In most cases, these accounts do indeed have a direct connection to the brand—such as being its affiliates.
If your account name is similar to that of a well-known brand and you do not represent that company, we recommend considering a name change.
However, if you are genuinely part of the brand and changing the name is not feasible for business reasons, try to avoid using content from the brand's official account—this will help reduce the risk of being blocked.
Unfortunately, there’s not much more you can do.
If your Instagram account has been blocked for any reason, don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team at antiban.pro—we’re here to help.
P.S. We hope that the "screws" will be loosened a bit soon!
