We thought we’d remind you of a handy feature on Instagram - pinned comments. Let’s start with the basics. What do you need to know?
You can pin up to 3 comments; you can’t pin your own comments; The person whose comment you’ve pinned will get a notification.
How do I pin?
You need to swipe your comment to the left (if you have iOS) or make a long tap until the top toolbar appears (Android). In the menu that appears, you need an icon with the image of a stationery button. It looks something like this
Why do you need it?
1. Paid advertising. For money advertisers can leave a comment, you’ll attach it. Bottom line: everyone who goes to comment can see the anchored phrase.
2. Encouragement. When you secure a funny or helpful comment from another user, you reward him. It’s his chance to get promoted. And for the owner of the account, it’s an opportunity to encourage people to write more comments (and meaningful ones at that).
3. Fixing reviews.
4. If you run contests or giveaways, after the results are summarized, you can secure the winner's comment.
