Meta, which owns Instagram, has announced that it has expanded access to its Creator Marketplace tool, designed to give more businesses the ability to find creators to work on their Instagram campaigns. First launched in 2022, the marketplace gave U.S. brands the ability to search and connect with popular bloggers on the platform based on various criteria such as subject matter, number of followers, location and other parameters.
Meta is now expanding access to the tool to businesses in various regions including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Japan, India and Brazil. In addition, Chinese export brands will also be encouraged to contact content creators in countries outside of China. This offer is somewhat unusual given the company’s complicated relationship with the Chinese Communist Party.
In an effort to make it easier to search and monitor, Meta is also rolling out new machine learning-based recommendations in the Creator Marketplace. These recommendations will use Instagram data to help brands find creators who are the best fit for their campaigns. They will highlight accounts with high engagement in a specific niche, have mentioned the brand in the past, or have achieved successful results for similar campaigns.
Thus, collaborating on branded content can be extremely effective on Instagram by leveraging the knowledge and experience of established creators who have attracted a large number of followers to the app and know flawlessly themselves what works. Working with these creators and connecting to a targeted audience can be the key to valuable support in key communities, which in turn can help strengthen a brand's position.
Brands can now take advantage of the Instagram author marketplace in Meta Business Suite, and access to these new regions will soon be available. All these changes will make it easier for companies to find the right authors to collaborate with and strengthen their presence on the platform.
