How do I request to irrevocably delete my Instagram account on my computer?

Go to the Delete Account page. If you're not already logged into Instagram from your computer, do so.

Choose an option from the drop-down menu under Why do you want to delete [account name]'s profile? and re-enter your password. You'll be able to permanently delete the account only after you choose a reason and enter your password. Click Delete [username] account.

To delete your other Instagram account:

Click the username in the top right corner of the Delete Account page.

Click the icon next to Edit Profile and select Sign Out.

Log in to the Instagram account you want to delete and follow the instructions above.

How do I permanently delete an account using Account Center?

Click More in the bottom left corner of the screen, and then click Settings. Click Account Center, and then click Personal Information.

Select the account you want to delete.

Touch Delete account, and then touch Continue.

Note. Deleting an account in the Account Center may not be available to you.

Once you delete your account, you'll be able to sign up again with the same username or use it in another account, provided the other person on Instagram hasn't done so before.

Note. If your account has been deleted for violating the Community Guidelines, you will not be able to sign up again with the same username.

Thirty days after submitting a deletion request - the Instagram account and all associated information will be permanently deleted. You will not be able to recover this information. During this time period, they will be subject to Instagram's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Instagram users will not see your content.

It may take up to 90 days from the start of the deletion process for your content to be removed. After this period, a copy of your content may be stored in backup storage that Instagram uses to recover data lost in the event of a natural disaster, software bug, etc.

Instagram may also store your information for legal matters, in the event of a breach of terms of use, or for purposes intended to prevent harm. More information about this is available in the Privacy Policy.
